Особливості перекладу російських термінів галузі залізничного транспорту українською мовою

Abstract

Terms are characterized by precision and convenience of creating derivatives. These characteristics should be kept in their translation. Special attention should be paid to translation from Russian. It should produce not calques or russified variants, but terms which are organic for the Ukrainian language. While translating terms it is necessary to take into account the semantic correspondence between Ukrainian and Russian affixes. The author looks at the main tendencies in the translation of terms of the railway transport, presents variants of Ukrainian affixes in the translation of such terms – nouns, adjectives, verbs, participles, stresses the need to distinguish in Ukrainian verbal nouns denoting action and its result, and avoid Russian suffixes in participial terms
