dc.description.abstract	The article provides some observation and guidance on how to make the texts of the source language and the target language commensurate and proportional in size. This requirement is often neglected in teaching translation although it contributes largely to the quality and adequacy of translation. Translated texts may tend to expand and shrink with respect to the original but the degree of shrinkage and extension must not be arbitrary or unreasonable.	uk_UA
