| Abstract: | In this paper we study the tendencies observed on the rendering into Ukrainian of homogeneous series (i.e., of syntactic constructions consisting of homogeneous members in a sentence) used in 19th-century French sonnets. The aim of this study is to analyze the correlation between the frequency of the use of homogeneous series in originals and in their translations and the quantity of members in these syntactic constructions, as well as the influence of the author's and his translator's idiolect on the methods of rendering homogeneous series and of their incorporation into the target text |
