Lexical and stylistic features of Charles III speeches

Abstract

The spread of Internet communication and online information exchange technologies has raised scholarly interest in political discourse. By summarizing the lexical and stylistic speeches of the leaders of the states, the author states that the majority of them use various types of artistic means to make their speech more expressive and bring the content closer to the people. Having analyzed three speeches of Charles III, it has been determined that the most frequently used metaphors are: a deep sense of gratitude, the service of her people, life of service, etc. The author emphasizes the importance of such research as it will allow us to better understand the context and purpose of political and other speeches, as well as to identify the impact of linguistic style on the audience and the overall effect of verbal speeches.

Узагальнюючи лексико-стилістичні промови лідерів держав, автор констатує, що більшість з них використовують різні види художніх засобів, щоб зробити своє мовлення більш виразним і наблизити зміст до народу. Проаналізувавши три промови Карла ІІІ, було визначено, що найбільш часто вживаними метафорами є: глибоке почуття вдячності, служіння своєму народу, життя у служінні тощо. Автор підкреслює важливість таких досліджень, оскільки вони дозволять краще зрозуміти контекст і мету політичних та інших промов, а також виявити вплив мовного стилю на аудиторію і загальний ефект вербальних виступів.
